HEPATITIS B VACCINATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

Vaccination helps prevent hepatitis B and its consequences such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. Hepatitis B vaccination is essential for all individuals, including infants.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS VACCINATION?

• Individuals with diabetes under 60 (or those over 60 with a high risk of contracting hepatitis B).
• People with hepatitis C, chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, etc.
• Patients undergoing treatment for kidney failure.
• Individuals with a family history of hepatitis B.
• People at high risk of exposure to blood, bodily fluids or other sources potentially infected with hepatitis B.
• Individuals who engage in homosexual sex; individuals with multiple sexual partners; those in a relationship with partners infected with hepatitis B and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
• Newborns and children.

VACCINATION’S PURPOSE

The hepatitis B vaccine generates antibodies to protect the body from liver diseases, significantly reducing the risk of liver cancer. It is crucial to complete the hepatitis B vaccination schedule to ensure its efficiency.

PATIENT PREPARATION

• Provide a history of hepatitis B vaccination.
• Provide result of HBsAg and anti-HBs tests.
• Provide information on current health (including any history of adverse reactions to vaccines, allergies to vaccine components, pregnancy or breastfeeding).
